Rebel Football Fundraising Efforts
Walpole High School Football has to its credit numerous State Titles and Super Bowl Championships. While it is costly, the taxpayer of Walpole does not shoulder the burden of this program. Public funds cover transportation, the cost of referees and a very limited amount of equipment. The Gridiron Boosters raise money each year to equip over 100 players involved in this program. The players via raffles and the sale of Rebel cards raise the money. Parents play a significant role in fundraising through a golf tournament, the sale of Rebel clothing, the solicitation of advertisers for the football program, and snack bar sales. In addition to fundraising, each player pays nearly $500 that includes a $155 athletic fee to the Town of Walpole. There is no doubt that the football program and other successful sports programs have garnered positive publicity and prestige for Walpole.
The success of the program depends on the support of family, friends, and the community. The private sector in Walpole has been the financial backbone of this program. We hope that you will support the businesses and individuals who advertise with us and extend our sincere thanks to them for their continued generosity.
