Apparently, pre-season for the 2012 season started as soon as the buses arrived back at WHS after the game Tuesday and you were announced as captains! Well done and best of luck to the four of you!

Thanks for Tim Hoffman for creating this artwork.   HERE are Tim's pictures from the playoff game the other night.

Dolphins Defeat Rebels, 46-20
  • Calendar iconNovember 30, 2011

The Dennis-Yarmouth Dolphins defeated the Walpole Rebels last night, 46-20. The Dolphins offense delivered as advertised, as they ran and passed the ball effectively throughout the game. The Dolphins are very strong in all phases of the game, reminiscent of Walpole's 2008 Super Bowl Champions. We congratulate them on their win.

Walpole Heads for Playoffs, Weymouth Heads Home
  • Calendar iconNovember 26, 2011

A very strong and talented Weymouth team, playing for its playoff life (in what was to be their last game of the year), held on for a 20-14 win on Thanksgiving Day on an otherwise picture perfect day for football. We say 'ran out of time' because the Rebels were clearly outplaying the Wildcats by a wide margin throughout the fourth quarter yesterday. With one more possession (or maybe playing with 12 minute quarters instead of 10), Walpole would have scored again and won 21-20. Remember, this Wildcat offense had been scoring an average of 40+ points per game, and we held them to half of that.

Glenn Whittemore Alumni Flag Football Game!
  • Calendar iconNovember 25, 2011

The second annual alumni flag football game, now the Glenn Whittemore Alumni Flag Football game was a great success! 40 Rebel alumni played, in a game pitting many of the 2008 Super Bowl Champs (white jerseys)  against (slightly) older alums  (in blue), many from the class of 2006 who were in town for their 5 year High School reunion. The "old Timers" outlasted the youngsters, 25-0. A good time was had by all! Thanks to all who participated for supporting the football program, including: Jan and Neil Collins, Bob Norberg, Chuck Bonewitz, Bob Porack, Gary and Lisa Whittemore, Jerry Ajamian, Coach Tompkins and Coach Greener and Phoenixx Embroidery of Walpole for creating our cool commemorative shirts.

See Tim Hoffman's photos of the game here!

This is a great feature with sportscaster Mike Lynch, and you can watch it HERE!! (We old-timers will appreciate Mike Lynch channeling Keith Jackson's college football broadcasts.....)

WATCH THIS!!  No stranger to winning in the last few seconds, Doug Flutie gives a shout out to the Walpole Rebels! This is legit folks!!

"The Best Player Ever to Play at Walpole"

Walpole Rebels Football Glenn Whittemore Alumni Football Game

The Gridiron Boosters is pleased to announce the 2nd annual Rebels Alumni Flag Football Game. We decided to name this annual event after Rebel Glenn Whittemore, called by Coach Lee “the best player ever to play at Walpole.” The oldest of four brothers to play football at Walpole, Glenn passed away in August 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. All of us who played at Walpole after Glenn owe him a debt of gratitude for setting the tone for years of success to follow. We hope you can participate and attend, but if not, please consider supporting the program through a donation.
